At a press conference at the Westford police station Tuesday morning, Middlesex District Attorney Gerard Leone said Brian Marchand, 59, fatally shot his daughter Olivia Marchand, 17, a senior at Westford Academy, turned the 9 mm pistol on his wife, Jody, 50, hitting her with one shot, then turned the gun on himself. All three victims were in an upstairs bedroom arguing in the moments before the shooting.
Olivia and Brian Marchand were pronounced dead at the scene. Jody Marchand was taken by medical helicopter to
UMass Medical Center in Worcester where she was listed in critical condition Tuesday morning, Leone said.
Leone said Olivia Marchand had twice dialed 911, but the phone was hung up. When police called back, she told them everything was OK. That’s when a police dispatcher heard yelling in the background followed by three gunshots around 8:37 p.m., Leone said.
